It's been a few weeks since I updated Warp or Weft, so I wanted to pop in and say hello! This year seems to be flying. Life has me a bit scattered with working on many projects both fiber related and non-fiber related. I have several almost finished knitting projects (only a few are pictured here!) and patterns that I can't wait to share plus two projects on my looms. I've been wrapped up in the creating side more than the sharing side for the last two months. It's time to power through finishing the projects because I want to warp the loom for another round of kitchen towels.
I'm also starting a nonprofit (unrelated to fiber arts), which has taken up a lot of my time recently. I felt inspired to try to assist with filling a need that isn't being met and have gathered some friends and former colleagues to work with me as well. It's been a long and sometime frustrating process in figuring it out, but I think it is much needed and will be worth the effort. I'll post a link to that website when the paperwork if completely filed and we are 100% up and running -- I'm crossing my fingers that will happen soon.
And I started working on marketing for my local knitting shop - So Much Yarn in the Pike Place Market. You can follow along on Facebook and Instagram if you want to see what's going on at the yarn shop. It's a great place to visit if you are in Seattle on vacation or at a conference as well as an incredible community if you are new to Seattle and looking for a place to meet wonderful people. The staff is always willing to help no matter your skill level and the selection of yarn is really superb.
On the home front, we are hoping to get back to traveling this year and found a new pet sitter who seems to really loves cats. Our cats are very energetic and have a bunch of health problems, so we had to find the perfect person to replace our former pet sitter. Now we have to decide where to go! Are you planning any exciting travel this year? Where are your favorite travel destinations? I want to hear about them!
