I relocated to Seattle in 2013 after I met my now husband, who has lived in Seattle since 2003 (which is forever if you know anything about the development of Seattle). When I got here, I had to reestablish all service providers and no one freely offered recommendations so I had to go my own way. Some people call it the Seattle freeze, but I classify it as being different - people don't assume that and they aren't in your business as much compared to other areas of the country. I am happy to share the service providers that I use as a place to start along with some things that I figured out.
Hair Stylist
Ashley at Studio 229. When I moved to Seattle, I had my worst nightmare of an experience with a hair dresser, who gave me what can best be described as a 1990s "Rachel" haircut. I cried for three days until Ashley fixed it.
