Another Great Men's Hat

Every few years, I enjoy knitting a hat for my husband. You may remember that over the past few years I knit him the Hatch Hat and the Oskar Hat. This year I went for an easy to follow cable and rib pattern called Jason’s Cashmere Hat. The pattern is free and fairly easy to follow. I knit it exactly as written.

I opted for Plymouth Homestead yarn, which is 100% wool, because it was available at a local yarn shop and it was in a good price point. The yarn has a soft texture and a rustic look. The cables stand out beautifully well in this wool. Ali loves the combination of orange and gray, so I chose to make the ribbed brim in Burnt Orange and the cable in Light Gray Heather. The hat would look great in a solid as well.

We had a sunny day following a snow storm, so we explored near the river while taking pictures. We found an eagle - with a nest! - in a tree, which you can sort of see above.

Happy knitting!
